[i]A replica of the X-20 Dyna-Soar, an early 1960s space plane, is on permanent display in Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Although it never saw flight, the plane paved the way for future reusable spacecraft, including the U.S. space shuttle. Armstrong had been selected as the plane's first pilot-engineer, and before his death he endorsed the X-20's display in the building named in his honor.[/i]
